Managing Chronic Stress

One important aspect of our health is how we manage our stress that comes with our day to day responsibilities. A lot of times it feels like we never get a break and can feel so overwhelming that you just feel like you’re going to break down at any moment because of all the worries piled up. Our physical body and mental and emotional health can only hold up so much under the onslaught of constant stress. However, if you know to control your stress and manage it well, you can easily clear your mind and your worries. But the problem is that not many people understand how vital it is to do that each and every day, Myself included. When we are unable to de-stress regularly, it builds up and becomes a constant nagging sensation.

It becomes chronic. Constant. It builds and builds until it breaks us. You’d be surprised about how bad stress is for our overall health. Not only does it prevent us a good night’s sleep, but it’s made us easily susceptible to getting sick. In time, it wreaks havoc in both our personal and social life. The worst part isn’t even just knowing that you’re stressed, it’s the pain and discomfort that comes with it, anything from headaches and fatigue to weight gain and hormonal imbalance. Stress is something we all have to deal with in our everyday lives, but we need to know how to manage it well in order to not let it affect our overall health. Here are some ways that will help alleviate stress and help our overall health in doing so:

  • Physical Activity: When we have a great amount of mental stress, doing a physical activity that promotes sweating allows for us to relax the muscles we are unconsciously and helps us focus on something else besides our worries. Juli loves hot yoga (twice a week in the mornings at 6 am!). Nina goes to the gym almost every day and I play tennis for about 3 nights a week. Physical activity is great for weight loss and helps with overall body health and support.
  • Meditation: Learning how to relax is a vital part of our health and needed in our hectic daily lives. It allows the body to relax completely; our minds, our physical body, and our emotions. Through this method, it creates a ‘restart’ method for us where we can focus on ourselves. Yoga, one of my favorite de-stressors is a great method for meditation. Especially so because it allows us to focus on our breathing, further relaxing ourselves.
  • CE Pills: CE pills made up herbs pressed into small pills that are great for stress relief and hormone balance. Our stress levels can go on to affect our hormone balance and create more problems. With CE, it’s focus may be the liver and spleen support. It’s often prescribed to women to help relieve stress because these organs are often the most affected. But men can also take it to help with stress. Check out our store website at hensenherbs.com and you can read up more about it!

Remember: Stress is something that we can control, so don’t let it control us!
